Hormone and Antibiotic Free Chicken, Lamb, and Fish
Proteins are the building blocks for tissue development and repair. Using the highest quality proteins produces the highest quality tissue development. This is critical for growing puppies as well as active adult dogs. Our Chicken and Lamb, grown for human consumption, are raised without the use of growth hormones and are free of antibiotics. Our menhaden fish is wild caught in US waters off the East Coast and in the Gulf of Mexico.
Complex Carbohydrates
Whole brown rice and oats are healthy natural sources of complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. These rich whole grains are absorbed slower, providing excellent stored energy between meals. Whole grains also contain:
- B vitamins - Breaks down carbohydrates into glucose for energy; breaks down fats to aid the nervous system; essential for muscle tone, skin, hair, and eyes.
- Vitamin E - Nourishes the immune system and an excellent antioxidant.
- Dietary Fiber - Moderates blood sugar, provides a feeling of fullness with fewer calories to maintain proper weight, proper gut function.
- Iron - Essential for oxygen transport; regulation of cell growth; increases immunity.
- Rich in micronutrients - whole grains contain 50-70% more nutrients than processed grains.
Heartland, Ocean, and Desert Nutrients
Sun cured alfalfa, cold water kelp, and southwest yucca are rich micronutrient sources for strong muscles, joints, and bones.
Chelated Minerals
Chelated minerals are absorbed and metabolized significantly more efficiently than inorganic mineral oxides. Oxide minerals found in most pet foods are nothing more than ground up rock minerals. Only about 1/3 of these are absorbed by your pet. The undigestible minerals pass through your pets waste systems and end up as fertilizer for your yard. VéRUS Pet Foods uses amino acid chelates, which are minerals bound to an amino acids. Amino acids are absorbed readily by dogs and cats pulling all the minerals into the system. Increased mineral absorption means greater available nutrients for usage throughout the body and less available minerals in the bladder, kidneys and urinary tract where crystals and stones form.
No Byproducts
These are things other than meat, such as heads, feet, underdeveloped eggs, lungs, spleens, bones, blood, etc. Byproducts are poorly digested, increasing the workload on your pet’s kidneys. Kidney failure is the second major killer of older dogs.
No Fillers
These are cheap processed grains, such as brewers rice, ground rice, wheat flour, rye flour, etc. Processed grains, know as "simple carbohydrates" are stripped of their nutritional value. These empty calories contribute to excess weight gain and diabetes.
No Chemical Preservatives
The average dog consumes 6 to 9 pounds of chemical additives a year in their diet. Many of the chemical additives and preservatives our pets eat are not approved for human consumption. It comes as no surprise that cancer is the #1 killer of older dogs. VéRUS contains natural preservatives such as:
- Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E)
- Rosemary Extracts
- Ascorbic Acid
- Ascorbyl Palmitate

If you want genuine, whole health nutrition, the choice is VéRUS.
We’ve all seen those commercials with the sad, lethargic, mistreated pets that need a home, love, and medical attention. You want to help, but just don’t know what you can do. Here’s a chance to make a difference… Oh and by the way, we’ll even give you a FREE BAG of VéRUS Pet Foods!
VéRUS offers a Rescue Frequent Feeder Program. We believe that mistreated animals shouldn’t suffer any more than what they already have. For pets that have been rescued, quality holistic food provides the ability to recover and heal and nutrients essential for a healthy life. We can make a change together. All you have to do is ask your VéRUS retailer or local rescue if they offer the program. If they do not, let us know, and we will mail you a Rescue Frequent Feeder envelope. Once you have purchased 12 bags of dry dog or dry cat food, we will donate a 20 lb bag to a rescue in your name. You will also receive a free bag for you own pet as a thank you for supporting less fortunate pets.
Are you a breeder?
Most professional breeders recognize the importance of nutrition on the proper health and development of growing puppies. Have you ever given a zip-loc bag of food to your puppy buyers when they head home, in the hopes that they will remember to keep their new puppy on VéRUS? One of the most common complaints breeders have is that their new puppy buyers switch diets causing heath issues.
We have a program made especially for you! We can provide savings while promoting a healthy, holistic food for the puppies you spent countless hours caring for. We will supply professional puppy packs for your buyers that include a Congratulations letter, VéRUS brochure, coupons, and a record keeper for vaccinations, examinations, and health information. In addition to giving you the peace of mind that your puppy buyers are going home with adequate information to a healthy dog, we will also give you, the breeder, discounts as well.
Requirements for participation in breeder program:
1. Breeder must have minimum of one (1) litter per year
2. Breeder must be a member of a kennel club.
3. Breeder must feed VéRUS Pet Foods.
The breeder program may not be combined with any other offer.
